"Preparing Accounting Professionals since 2007"

Course Overview: CIA (USA) Part 2 (Under Development)

This is an advanced course that covers multiple competencies expected from internal audit professionals, including the chief audit executive’s responsibility for assessing residual risk and communicating risk acceptance, a greater understanding of the IIA’s performance standards, sampling tools and techniques, and communicating engagement results.

This course will help you to become the credible, trusted expert that everyone turns to and one that can apply the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing, make critical decisions, safeguard a company’s integrity, and plan for business sustainability, apart from driving an organization’s strategy and value amid an unpredictable market.

Who Should Apply for This Course?

The CIA designation increases career-advancing opportunities and earning potential. This course is recommended for all internal audit, accounting, and finance professionals who want to get a globally recognized certification in the least possible time.

Learning Outcome
The CIA exam Part 2 matches the IIA’s International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) and covers four main areas: managing the internal audit process, planning the audit, carrying out the audit, sharing the results, and tracking progress. Part 2 tests candidates’ knowledge, skills, and abilities particularly related to Performance Standards (series 2000, 2200, 2300, 2400, 2500, and 2600) and current internal audit practices.

Trusted globally
As the IIA’s premier designation for more than 40 years, the CIA sets the standard for excellence within the profession. Earning the CIA is an important step towards demonstrating your core internal audit skills and knowledge.

About CIA exams in 2026
CIA is the flagship qualification of IIA-USA. It has three exams. Exams can be taken throughout the year at Pearson VUE centers. When you register for an exam on the IIA website, you can access the Pearson VUE platform within your student profile (called CCMS) and select your preferred testing center location, date, and timing.

How to Prepare and Pass Exam on First Attempt
Study both the CIA Part 1 and Part 2 exams together and attempt them with a gap of 15 to 20 days. Once you pass the CIA Part 1 and Part 2 exams, go for the CIA Part 3 exam.
